Fine-tune routes for different driver speeds

Not all drivers work at the same pace. Some consistently move faster and can handle more orders; others need a lighter workload to finish on time.

Driver Speed lets you set a speed factor on individual drivers:

  • How fast they drive to a location (driving time)
  • How fast they work at a location (order duration time)

With this new feature, Routific can more accurately reflect how your team actually performs!

Track driver on-time stats through the day

Now you can easily see which drivers are on time, early, or running behind. A great way to track delivery progress at a glance!

Warning for unexpected actions in the driver mobile app 

Drivers will now receive a pop-up warning to ensure they want to take certain actions. The warnings will appear when drivers are:

  • Starting a route earlier than expected
  • Completing a delivery when they appear to be far from the stop
  • Marking a delivery failed when they appear to be far from the stop
  • Choosing to reattempt a stop at a later time

Use tags to apply business rules

Tags let you encode your real-world business logic into Routific.

You can use tags to ensure certain orders will be assigned to certain routes.

Common use cases include:

  • You have customers who prefer to be served by a particular delivery driver.
  • You have drivers who have specific skills for certain jobs.
  • You want to assign certain orders to routes in particular areas of a city (eg. North, South, East, West).
  • You have vehicles that can only be assigned certain orders because of height, weight, or equipment.

Improved customer name display

We’ve made some usability changes both to the dispatcher and mobile apps, most noticeably making the customer name more prominent in both views.

Save customer details

If you have recurring customers, it’s now possible to save their details to a master list you can reuse again and again. Delivery notes, names, and addresses stay attached to each customer, so nothing gets lost between runs.

Instead of uploading a spreadsheet or manually creating orders each time, simply select from your saved customers when building routes.

Customer profiles are especially useful if you:

  • Deliver to the same customers on a regular basis
  • Want a single, reliable source of customer information
  • Want to skip CSV uploads and manual data entry

La app móvil de Routific ahora está disponible en español

The Routific mobile app for drivers is now available in Spanish.

Drivers don’t need to change anything in the Routific app to use Spanish. If a driver’s phone is set to Spanish as the default language, the Routific mobile app will automatically appear in Spanish.

‍If the phone’s default language is set to another language, the app will continue to display in English for now.

Barcode scanning

Even small delivery mistakes can create big problems: missed meals, frustrated customers, and drivers sent back out to fix errors. That’s why we’re introducing barcode scanning so drivers can scan packages at the door to confirm they’re delivering the right items to the right customer. Meanwhile, dispatchers get a clear audit trail of each scan.

Implementing barcode scanning results in fewer wrong deliveries, fewer support calls, and more confidence across the entire delivery operation.

This is the first version of barcode scanning in Routific. It allows you to:

  • Upload barcodes to orders
  • Have drivers scan barcodes at the point of delivery
  • Validate that the correct barcodes have been scanned for the correct customer

Rebuilding similar routes day after day is slow and error-prone. You can now copy an existing route to any date to stay consistent and save time!

Driver App updates

When plans change on the road, drivers need flexibility. Drivers can now:

  • Upload proof-of-delivery photos from their phone’s gallery.
  • Use a more stable app with fewer bugs and crashes.
  • Re-attempt missed stops later in the day.
  • Change stop order while en route.

Assign delivery dates per order

When orders aren’t tied to delivery days, planning ahead gets messy. You can now assign delivery dates to orders — including via bulk CSV upload — to keep routes aligned with your schedule.

Flexible constraints for handling overtime and late deliveries

Sometimes you need to bend the rules. 

On busy days, you might log a little driver overtime, squeeze in a few extra packages, or deliver just outside the promised time window. That flexibility can make all the difference.

With Routific’s new flexible constraints, you decide how the system should handle those tricky situations:

  • Time windows: Allow deliveries to be a bit late, or enforce strict time-windows.
  • Shift times: Allow drivers to work overtime, or stop exactly at the end of their shift.
  • Capacities: Allow loads to go over route limits, or enforce strictly.

These settings put you in control. Instead of rigid rules slowing you down, you choose how Routific responds.

Add new orders without re-optimizing

You can now add any number of orders into an existing route without re-optimizing what you’ve already planned.

Previously, adding more than 10% of a route’s orders would trigger auto re-optimization. Now, you decide:

  • Re-optimize when you want to reshuffle the route for the optimal sequence.
  • Insert only when you need to slot in new orders without moving around what’s already scheduled.

Email verification for added security

If you’re using your email to log into Routific, you’ll be asked to verify that you own it. This extra step helps keep your data secure.

As your team grows, each team member will also need to verify their email address. We’re constantly making improvements to make sure your information stays safe with us.

Driver familiarity

Drivers can be 10% faster on roads they have driven on more than five times. The more often a driver covers the same area, the better they know its roads, parking options, building entrances, and clients. This can shave a few minutes off every delivery, adding up to a lot of time over multiple routes and days.

Routific now tracks how often a driver has been assigned to a specific territory and scores their familiarity — helping you choose the right driver and increasing your delivery efficiency.

That’s where Routific Insights comes in. Our new tool visualizes your route data so you can uncover trends, track performance, and export reports for any date range—whether it’s a week, a month, or a quarter.

With Insights, you can track:

  • Number of completed routes/orders
  • Estimated total distance traveled
  • Total actual working time
  • Driver-specific stats & performance breakdowns
